Boss Chinese New Year treat at the famous 波记 Por Kee Tiong Bahru.

Yu Sang! Still craving for this even though CNY is kind of over.

Amazing platter with everything irrepressible.

Signature and famous coffee rib. Can see the 肥油 or not? So juicy, they added honey and the sauce taste like bak gua.

Shark fin soup lots and lots of crab meat

Another cannot be missed dish, cereal prawn.

Favorite sea cucumber and fish maw, so glad the people at my table didn't appreciate the goodness from the sea. All collagen for me please :)

Live fish, Thai style , there is a soup base to be poured over and let it boil.

Went prawning with my cousins, aunt and mum in the middle of the night after the gathering. Including my brother, we have four dragon babies in 1988, since then four of them has been a pillar for each other. They have grown up, turning 24 this year.

Gourmet bak gua (bacon) at a premium price, 300g for $22 during CNY period. Very oily, very sinful, very satisfying after a few bites.

We cruised down to Frassler factory to collect my pre-booked 2kg ($83)of salmon sashimi.

So fresh, cant help but we ate some before bringing the platter to my granny's place.

Frozen soup pack was good, contain lots of ingredient for $3.50, feed 2.

This is a Japanese place i always wanted to visit ever since we moved in to Tiong Bahru. Taukene Ichigo have this very heavy wooden doors that forever remain closed and that made me very curious about the food inside. A restaurant that gives off a not welcoming aura is mysterious.

Mentaiko onigiri

Tako wasabi, perfect with a mug of Hite.

Yakitori with radish and vinegar sauce. This is a major disappointment for a yakitori specialty shop. They look and tasted so different from the yakitori leader in cuppage.

Udon with radish mesh and yoke, looks yummy but taste was mild. I am expecting more for the price i paid.

Yakitori with mentaiko mayo. I wonder they yaki (grill) the chicken or boil it, fast food chain ToriQ machine can do a better job than they did.

I guess i am only paying for exclusivity, the place is packed with Japanese uncles drinking after work. Food is horrible and they didn't even serve pork yakitori.

The only reason i stepped into Tiong Bahru Old Beijing was groupon's deal, so i came in again and walked out disappointed again. How can Tung Lok let this happen, i heard the outlet in Plaza Singapura have much better standard, why no QC in Tiong Bahru?

Eight treasure tea, i hungrygowhere it, it's suppose to taste great according to the review but i am paying $3++ each pax to drink something tasteless.

Groupon's peking duck, the first time in my life i tried a peking duck with a non crispy skin. It's a heaven and earth comparison to the great ones at Old Hong Kong restaurant.

Xiao Long Bao, very norm, can go without it.

Crispy meat pan cake, the only okay dish of the day though i find it a little pricey at $8++.

but at least it taste good.

The next time i will visit them (Tiong Bahru outlet) again is when i forget how bad they taste.

$102 Deal Batam Weekend Getaway

Boarding pass to our $102 Batam Deal trip. To be exact, i paid $75 for the two days one night deal with a $27 fuel charge for ferry.

Boat trip took us about an hour. Greeted by "B1 Ah Heng" tour agency at the harbor, there are around 12 of us in the one day tour.

First stop we arrived at the 大伯公 temple. It was nothing, not even a fancy temple, just huge, lucky the stop by time was around 10-15min.

Second stop at some minimart selling Batam keropok. I know it's pricey but they have a huge selection of keropok, i cant help but bought some.

Goreng Pisang at 30cent a piece opposite of the Keropok store.

Next, we stop at the massage place opposite Nagoya city mall before our lunch.

Was asked to pay $6 for 30min more of massage, our tour package only include 60min of massage which we feel great about it since we enjoyed massage.

Lunch was included in the package but since it is free, dont expect something a feast.

For those who Free and Easy Batam, i heard they serve pretty good and reasonable ala cart.

Poor sharks, i wonder do customers order one whole shark, why are they here?

We had mini glass prawn, which taste quite similar to sakura ebi they served in Waraku.

Meal comes with free coconut or soft drink.

Some photos i managed to snap before the other in the tour start feasting in.

The free seafood lunch was much better than i expect what a free lunch would be, their sakura ebi and calamari are delish.

After lunch we stopped by the go cart place for 15mins of go cart ($15).

Yummy banana ice cream crepe ($1+) from one of the mall the agent send us. I don't remember which mall was it, nothing fancy, the only thing that interest me in the mall were those pirated disk. They have Singapore's movies like 大世界 that you don't find them available on pirates bay.

Honest speaking, i bought the deal for this after seeing my friend posted up her Batam deal trip photos.This place remind us of those private apartments and malls in Jakarta where their architecture and interior design are a blend of European and Indonesia's art.

Master piece in the main lobby, classy.

Checking in was a breeze, they arranged our room for us in less than 5mins. I self volunteered to upgrade our standard room to the deluxe room that comes with free mini bar, bigger room with king size bed and a humongous bath tub at $12 more.

Everything so new so clean

It's worth $12 isn't it? Only disappointing thing was the aircon gets into the bath room, water cool off quickly and i cant get my hot soak.

Another plus point of this hotel was their channel selections, i wont miss my Star Movie, Star world, HBO even when i am here across the sea.

We are too exhausted to get out so we had our dinner in hotel's only restaurant.

Husband is craving for fried dumpling ($1+). Regret ordering this as they serve these on breakfast buffet spread.

I had my best gado gado ($4) i have ever had, they added lemon grass into the peanut sauce and also had the potato and tofu fried.

Nasi goreng turn out to be Chinese fried rice, where is the sambal?!

A signature dish the waiter recommend, mie dok dok ($4), I dont know how to explain but this taste childhood.

Greedy me bought so much keropok in the mini mart.

I think i saw the familiar fried rice. Their fried food are good, like the husband said Indonesian are best in frying their food.

Harmoni one is one great hotel to visit for a stay-cation. We spend the rest of the hours couching on the bed watching HBO.

Thanks to a colleague, i bought IPSA cream foundation and time reset cream cs1 at 3-40% member discount!

The first time i spending a small fortune on a bottle of pore minimizing cream (before $132), blame it to aging.

Big different. Yes, i do see a major difference after i have been applying products for two weeks. Skin has been far away from "toie toie" ever since i waved good bye to my 24 and my collagen two years back. Got my wake up call last month when my beautician refused to let me try diamond peeling as my skin was too dry. Aging allows you to understand why women spend big bucks on beauty products because it's true that you rather squeeze your monthly allowance than to see your skin getting dry and pore getting big especially when your partner comment about it.

很多人說，我因為「李大仁」而翻紅，作為一個演員，這個角色是成功的，觀眾在李大仁的身上，看不見陳柏霖的樣子。但我不等於他，他不之於我，除了把李大仁這個角色詮釋好之外，「陳柏霖」這個符號還有別的可能性。

我最近接下《BBS鄉民的正義》，它講的是網路霸凌和言論自由，雖然片酬不高，但我覺得這部電影有存在的必要，如果因為它而修整一些社會亂象，遠比我維持一個很帥的李大仁形象，或是得金馬獎重要多了。

出道10年，我曾經對工作失去熱情，工作來的時候我接、我拍，但就只是執行一項任務而已，就像一枚棋子。2009年我拍了《觀音山》，我在製片人方勵、導演李玉的身上，看到他們對電影的堅持和熱情，讓我不想只做個棋子，而想當下棋的人。

也大概是在那個時候，我和朋友一起做了一個APP程式分享的網站，成立自己的「北京柏霖時創藝術文化公司」，我希望自己不只是執行一個被劇本設定的生命狀態，我可以當製片、當編劇，甚至在未來，我可以是一個影響世界的發明家。

這些想法也許會有人不以為然，但是人千萬不要忽視自己的可能性。就像我參加《百萬小學堂》得到第一名一樣（編按：陳柏霖是該節目開播三年以來，第一位完全闖關、抱走10萬元大獎的得主），如果我沒有努力學廣東話，可能就不會知道「帶子就是乾貝」；如果我沒有因為拍《愛得起》，而去接觸歐陽修的作品，可能也答不出「讀書三上」的題目。

人生的可能性，不在於你仰望得有多高，而在於你是否專心看著自己走的每一步。就算是愛因斯坦、賈伯斯，他們也沒想過有一天會變成時代的創造者，他們只是低著頭，看著自己的腳尖，一步步堅持地往前走。

從小到大，每一個人都一定會想過要改變世界，但長大了通常都是被世界改變。我不希望到最後，每天早上起床照鏡子，發現鏡子裡的人，是小時候自己最看不起的那種人，做的每一件事都是重複和抄襲，生命中只聞得到錢的味道。

所以一直以來，我從沒有把自己當成一個藝人般的活著。我沒有車子，交通工具是走路、坐計程車或騎腳踏車；我沒有買房子，雖然爸媽希望我置產，但我一直覺得這地球本來就是給人類居住的地方，哪裡需要買或不買？年輕人買房子這件事，已經變成這世界對一個資產階級的歧視或崇拜。

沒錯，演員賺錢可能比一般人容易，但我認為人生的加減法應該這樣計算：如果你做的事情不開心，即使賺了100萬元，也會用這100萬元去買開心；但如果你做事情的過程是開心的，即使只賺50萬元，你不必用這50萬元去買開心，豈不賺到更多？

我很幸運，大部分的時候不用花錢買開心，只需要專注、踏實地走好每一步，而這才是生命真實的重量和價值所在。

我很喜歡管理學大師彼得杜拉克的一句話：「Motion」不等於「Progress」。「Motion」是移動，「Progress」是進展。「Progress」是有自覺、有選擇性、有方向、有層次的「Motion」。

忙碌，讓我忘了思考、選擇、自省、修正。我每天只求把時間擠爆，以為這就是打拚。後來我才懂得：真正地打拚，是有方向性、有層次感地決定該做什麼，不該做什麼。

有時「不做」什麼，反而比「做」什麼重要。因為不做不相關的東西，你才能把最重要的事情做好。有時做得「不同」，比做得「多」重要。因為誰都會硬幹多做，只有有心人才能與眾不同。

一年之初，是圓夢的好時機。去忙吧！但不要瞎忙。創造一些「進展」，不要只滿足於「移動」。有自覺、有選擇性、有方向、有層次地追夢，不管最後成功或失敗，你的生命，都有了「Progress」。

Finally we went to collect The Husband's Christmas present from CRS Haven, a self sustaining eco-system with glass shrimps. No feeding or changing of water required and it can last for years! Marimo 毬藻, the four green fury algae ball is food.

Every eco system are made from natural corals, shells and plants from the sea, every eco system are unique. We picked up this system that comes with a huge coral so that our 5 tiny glass shrimps can have a great time playing hide and seek.

There is this crazy one who kept swimming round and round.

Go away, i want to dine in private! (see that little green ball mr fatty is grabbing onto)
The marimo is already their food but we are also given a pack of tiny shrimp food to be fed once every two weeks. This act like a supplement or a treat and it's very interesting to see how active they become the moment we drop one tiny drop of their "snack" into the tank. They will push each other away over it, run away with it and try to hide from the rest in the coral maze.

We enjoyed watching them, hope they multiply.

We finally made use of our $200 Shangrila voucher i won from food review on insing.com about a year ago. We went to The Line on Wednesday for Seafood night to celebrate our five and a half year anniversary.

I learned my mistake from Phuket Hilton experience, i attack the seafood counter first this time. Oyster freshly open when you order, we ordered a dozen of them that night.

A place i would recommend for steamboat. Instead of our usual "cheena" steamboat we find around bugis area why not try the Thai steamboat place Mookata at east coast road along the stretch of shop houses where ASTON's is located.

Mookata is quite well known in Thailand and Malaysia, this is their first outlet on our sunny island. I loves their creative charcoal steamboat pot, it's concave so the juice of the meat will flow right down into the soup. Holes on the curve to allow the mild charcoal smoke add the extra smoky touch to your meat. And their not to be missed Thai dipping sauce is so appetizing with almost everything.

They are reasonably priced and they also offer buffet during weekdays.

My company started out this company wide work cum social media portal. We are free to create a blog or forum for information exchanging and this is one meaningful piece from one of our leader.

Increasingly, leaders have to rely on talent and their attitudes to make a big difference to their overall performance and success of their teams. For me, there's a simple formula that I adopt to select the key talent in the team. I look for the 4Qs ie IQ + EQ + AQ + DQ. Let me explain these elements :

- IQ : Intelligence Quotient ie how smart or intelligent is the talent ? Never stop learning !

People with high EQ have the ability to engage others well, excite and energize them even in the process. Look out for more of these to be in your teams.

- AQ : Adversity Quotient : the ability of the individual to stand up and take the pressures of life, work or any challenges. This is also another great differentiator for one who possess this element, especially in this age where challenges abound and plentiful. How do you stand up to this ? Remember, Tough times don't last, Tough People do... Like Tag Heuer's once tag line - "Don't crack under pressure !"

- DQ : This is a new one of recent times and one that is becoming valuable. It's called Digital Quotient born out of this ever increasing Digital Age. This is a measure of how adapt one is with the latest and coolest technologies, smart devices, facebook, games etc, but more important than being just a user, it's the ability to sense what's the next WoW and have a point of view, with a dare to try and test new grounds. GM Diet - A 7 Days Program

Together with few ladies in my department, we form a GM diet support group. Aim to lose some pounds before feasting on those sinful chocolate log cakes and pineapple tarts. According to online source, GM diet is a 20 years old crash diet created by General Motor's management to help staff to get back in shape. Other source has pointed out the similarity of GM diet compare to cabbage soup diet. Well, who cares, as long as the system works and we can shed 10 pounds in a week.

I find some suggested meals plan from Cabbage Soup Diet 2.0 site is useful, do take a look if you are on your way to detox.

First Day (Fruit Day;all fruits except banana)

Today you are getting your body ready to roll for theduration of the diet, and you get to eat any and all fruits with the exceptionof bananas – no bananas are allowed. Fruits are high in water, high in complexcarbohydrates and contain almost no fat. Fresh fruits are preferable, butcanned fruits are fine as well as long as they do not have any added sugars orchemicals. And if you like melons, that’s extra good because melons should be yourtop fruit choice today and will give you the best initial weight loss. So eatas much fruit as you want, and if you love cantaloupe or watermelon, this isthe day to indulge!

What actually happen:

We brought fruits pot luck to office for lunch. I couldn't eat much, all fruit diet is too sweet for me to handle. I need salt, something savory to keep my mind working. Estee and Me went 313 food court to share one bowl of only vegetable yong tau foo, no meat, no carb. We also gave up our usual after lunch tea / gong cha this whole week.

As for dinner, i chewed down a few piece of butterhead lettuce with balsamic vinegar and went to bed crying, lol.

Note: Not all vegetable are healthy, stick to low calories vegeatble. Potato is a no no, corns are high in calories as compare to other vegetable, so try cut down the portion.

Aftermath: No carb diet is a steeper adaption curve than a low carb diet. No way for you to get on a threat-mill these few days without carb nor protein, lethargic kick in straight after lunch. I alter the menu a little, i cant take fruits all day and i suppose vegetable is an healthier option compared to fruits which are generally much higher in sugar content.

Second Day (Vegetableday)

Vegetable day! Today you are infusing your body with anotherhigh dose of complex carbohydrates and small amounts of oils. Vegetables have ahigh water content, a low fat content, and scores of minerals and vitamins. Eatyour veggies raw or cooked – I found that a combination of the two worked bestfor me.

You get to have one medium-sized potato today (only one!)baked, boiled or nuked in the microwave topped with one tablespoon of butter,and my suggestion would be to eat the potato for breakfast to get your day offto a good and satiated start. The rest of the day you should chow down onvegetables to your heart’s content; maybe eating a big salad with oil andvinegar dressing for lunch and a selection of raw veggies for snacks. Then whip up a big ol’ skillet of sauteedvegetables with some spices, herbs and two tablespoons or less of olive oil fordinner.

What actually happen:

I usually don't take breakfast but the few piece of lettuce last night is making my tummy groan. Bought a dark coffee (with artificial sugar) and ate half of a whole meal vegetarian sandwich. I am allow to take in some complex carbohydrate in the morning, but instead of a medium size potato i had one piece of whole meal bread.

For lunch, i am sticking to my all greens yong tau foo without carb or meat.

For dinner, I bought a small pack of balsamic all vegetable salad from Sumo Salad $5.

Aftermath: Walking pass the bakery on the way home is a torture, Argh! I can survive without meat but carb is my soft spot. Signing off, your truly carbo girl.

Third Day (Vegetable+ Fruit day) still no Banana!

Today you get to eat any vegetables you want (exceptpotatoes) and any kind of fruit you want (except bananas). A good plan for mewould be to eat lots of luscious berries and melons for breakfast, a giantsalad with oil and balsamic vinegar dressing for lunch, some carrot and celerysticks with a little salt for an afternoon snack, and a huge skillet ofmushrooms, onions, butternut squash, peppers and herbs sauteed in olive oil fordinner.

What actually happen:

It's Saturday, the husband is out to run errand, i had a simple fruit brunch for myself. Not sure if i am able to have coconut but i only took the juice and threw the meat.

For dinner, i stir fry some sauteed mixed mushroom with a tiny bit of extra virgin olive oil and had some Kimchi soup. Thank god there is Kimchi soup, i wonder how people are going to survive with cabbage soup. Spam inside is for The Husband, he will go mad without meat.

Aftermath: Very tempted to have cold tofu but come thinking of it tofu is a placement of meat for vegetarian; It's high in protein, sighed. I cheated a bit, had 3 small pieces of Famous Amos The Husband bought home.No carb, no meat, no egg, no tofu day 3 is torturing, i keep telling myself 1 more day to protein.

Fourth Day (Bananahere, banana there)

Today is bananas and milk day. Yep, you read it correctly –you get eight bananas and three glasses of low-fat skim milk. Drink the milkthat is fortified with vitamin D. Soundsweird, I know, but today your body is getting a major infusion of potassium,phosphorus, vitamin D, vitamin B-12 and calcium. Another cool thing is that youwill most likely see your sweet-tooth cravings go away today. Making bigmilkshakes in a blender with bananas, crushed ice and milk works great, andmost people are amazed at how easy this day is.

The benefits of calcium are well-known and Vitamin D helpsto maintain your potassium and phosphorus levels. Your body needs potassium tocontrol your fluids and electrolytes and regulate your blood pressure.Phosphorus gives your bones strength, and B-12 helps out in red blood cell production.

What actually happen:
Banananana day. Had a no sugar coffee with skim milk and a piece of banana for brunch. Kind of bloat when the banana went down your stomach. Maybe it's the after effect low fiber diet the past 3 days. My husband is not helpful, he is making another of his signature 자장밥 (Jajangbab, rice version of JaJangMyeong) in the kitchen and the smell is .... !

Was hungry around 5pm, so i made myself a lettuce sushi. Basically it is just chopped lettuce wrapped with seaweed paper, i also added in slices of Kimchi for taste.

For dinner, i made Banana shake from the recommended day 4 menu with 2 banana, half a cup of skimmed milk and ice. It was fantastic, so yummy! Made one for The Husband and he loves it too! I think i will continue to make banana shake after this diet. On top of that i ate 3 piece of whole meal cracker (30kcal).

Aftermath: The banana shake is quite fulling, i feel bloated even after hours. Oh yeah, i actually made the cabbage soup today, it was horrible, i didn't even touch it. Last but not least, YAHOO finally meat for tomorrow.

Fifth Day = Feast daywith Protein!

Lean meats (beef is the top choice here due to the ironcontent), fish and tomatoes are what make up the menu for today. Protein!Protein! Protein! Yes, you finally getto chow down on some meat – up to 20 ounces today – and six medium sized tomatoes.Fresh tomatoes are best, but canned are okay too as long as they don’t have anyadded sugars or sodium. Any type of lean meat and fish is allowed, but leanbeef is recommended today for the higher iron content. You also want to try andtake in about 25% more liquids today, to help rid your body of any excess uricacid it receives due to the purines in the meat and fish.

So, have a steak, eat a big salmon fillet or feast on half arotisserie chicken! The only criterion is that the meat be lean, and your totalportions for the day not exceed 20 ounces. Think of five quarter-pound beef patties, and you’ll see that you caneat a heck of a lot of meat today if you so desire! But don’t worry if you justaren’t hungry enough to chow down on all this protein though, you don’t haveto; however, you do have to eat all your tomatoes.

Tomatoes have lots of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and will give yousome fiber. The lean meats will load your body up with the protein it’s beencraving, and lean beef will give you a nice iron infusion.

What actually happen:

Vegetable platter at Marche, see how good we are to make $13.80 worth it!

Sixth Day = SuperFeast day

Today is all about eating lean meat, fish and vegetables,and this day seemed like a feast to me. It’s basically a combination of daystwo and five because you get to eat as much meat (beef is the best choice becauseof the iron content) and fish and as many vegetables as you desire (exceptpotatoes). So today you are getting your fill of lean protein, complexcarbohydrates and fiber, along with loads of vitamins and minerals. Don’t besurprised though, when you find that you can’t eat as much as you thought youcould!

What actually happen:
Feast day! Feast at Kopitiam (coffee shop) Aston steak. After having so many days of vegetable, my appetite is asking for more greens! I don't use to chew on vege, for the Celine before GM diet, i would have ordered mash potato and pasta salad as side.

Seventh Day = Carboday

Last day! Today you get to stuff yourself with all the brownrice and vegetables you can eat and all the fruit juices you can drink. Justmake sure the juices don’t have any added sugars in them. Brown rice is anawesome food; it tastes great and has protein, carbohydrates and fiber. Brownrice is an excellent source of manganese which is an essential trace elementthat activates enzymes in your body for a whole host of nutrients. Brown ricealso contains good amounts of selenium and magnesium as well.

What actually happen:
Finally, cabo day also my 'treat' day from my project manager. Went to Javier's Rotisserie and Salad Bar at Cineleisure for roast chicken and salad. I swayed away from 7 day plan but i try to stuff myself with as much vegetable as i can.

Conclusion: I did lost about 2 over kg and the weight didn't come back after i stop the diet, probably because i did some slight change in eating habit and cut away the "gong cha". We are going to start it again next Monday!

Finally met up with Sandra's boyfriend after our "Already Famous" movie date.

That girl insist to try Noodle House Ken at orchard plaza. Apparently this place was famous for late night ramen (till 2am), check their review in HUNGRY and iEAT.

Generous serving of char siew with miso wasabi.

Famous Hiyashi cold ramen with sesame dressing, a must try if you crave for cold ramen.

I am not a noodle person, i usually waste half the noodle they gave me in Ajisen but i finish this whole bowl of noodle at 10pm, it's that good!

Never ever seen so much chunky char siew in a bowl of ramen, 5 big piece.

Buttery ramen, strong salty buttery taste was shiok initially but according to Sandra's bf it's too much to have it alone, recommend to share.

*Felt so sinful to have ramen at 10pm, stayed till 7am before i dare to turn in.

This is a hidden gem in Cineleisure, Why nobody told me about this place before? Opened by Aston's company, similar concept as Sizzlier and Ponderosa but much cheaper.

So i came here to claim my free lunch from Clarence, my project manager. I ordered my quarter chicken at 8.90, topped up 3.90 for fill full your plate salad bar and soup.Check out the salad bar, they have all the premium greens!

Yum Yum, i will definitely come again with The Husband.

American portion, our order of an ala cart blue cheese burger ($15.90) and a 3 course set meal ($39.90) that comes with a glass of red or white house wine and is more than enough to feed two pigs.

Free chips and home made bread

Beef carpaccio with goat cheese. My very first encounter to chew on full raw beef and it's not a pleasant one, i think i will stick back to medium rare.

Blue cheese burger. Never felt so blue before, every mouth is an explosive of emm~ sensation!

So blue so salty so interesting. Not for first timer and i think it's better to share this rather than going blue alone.

We ordered gratin, ratatouille, balsamic rice and fries.

Beef skewer for the carnivore. Note that their standard of 'medium' is our 'rare'.

We are too full for dessert so we asked for Ben and Jerry's Cookie and cream and the must order Mango sorbet with mango chunk.

They have quite a bit of sampler set for almost everything from starter all the way to dessert. Great dinning place for friends gathering, i am so gonna bring my ladies friend here for our next gathering.
